Jonathan Edmonds
Pastor
Hi, I’m Jonathan, and I was born and raised in Sheffield. I’m married to Anna and we are blessed to have two boys. I became a Christian at University when I was confronted with the historical truth of Jesus’ death and resurrection. In my spare time I enjoy good coffee, Tennis and time with family.
Mark Harewood
Pastor
I’m Mark and I’m one of the pastors at BEC. I’m married to Lizzie and we have two children; Barnabas and Tabitha. I was brought up in a Christian family and as a teenager, I came to realise the Christian faith has firm foundations and is historically credible. However it was only when I was 18 that I was challenged that if it is true then I must trust Christ and live wholeheartedly for Him.
Kathryn Mair
Administrator and Designated Safeguarding Lead
Hi, I’m Kathryn, and my role at BEC is to help the church run as smoothly as possible! I am married to Simon and we have two grown up boys. Outside of church activities I enjoy feeding family and friends, going out for walks, playing the piano and doing the occasional French translation.
I was brought up in a Christian home where God was loved and honoured, and I came to trust Jesus as my Saviour around the age of 11. His faithfulness to me has been a constant source of strength and amazement ever since.
Mike Stark
Children and Youth Worker
I grew up in Charlotte Chapel, Edinburgh and came to faith in the Lord Jesus there when I was 17. I studied English Literature and History at the University of Edinburgh and worked in accountancy for a couple of years before going to Bible college in Glasgow. I discovered a passion for youth ministry in 2002 during a short-term mission trip in Wisconsin, USA. After that, I served as youth worker at Charlotte Chapel for a year, and at Niddrie Community Church in Edinburgh for 6 years. I love introducing young people to Jesus, investing in their spiritual growth and encouraging parents in the discipleship of their families. I also like running, climbing and watching movies. I’m married to Helen and have 3 young boys.

Henry Arnett
Elder
I am Henry, married to Pam. I was born in Doncaster, and am proud of it! Pam and I have two married daughters and five grandchildren. We live not far from the church in Bessacarr. We have been involved in BEC for almost all of its existence. I am a retired engineer, having run a family business in Doncaster. Although Pam and I spend quite a lot of time involved in the church we are both keen on being outdoors, gardening, hill walking, sailing and skiing. I’ve been a follower of Jesus Christ for more than 5 decades, a decision that I have never regretted.
Chris Axelby
Elder
My name is Chris, married to Angela, dad to 2 married daughters and granddad to 2 little boys. I grew up in Sheffield, not as a Christian, but at the age of 18 I started going to church and it all seemed to make sense! I haven’t looked back since making that decision and would really recommend you explore Christianity! We have been part of BEC more than 30 years, originally coming to Doncaster to sell International Harvester tractors. After 24 years in agriculture, I worked for Good News For Everyone (formerly known as Gideons). I continue to volunteer with Good News and in my spare time I mess about with classic cars.
Peter Tan
Elder
I’m Peter, originally from Malaysia, but have loved living in Yorkshire for over 20 years. My wife Patty and I have 2 daughters who both grew up within the BEC church family. We have all been blessed to have been a part of BEC for many years and through serving and receiving and being a part of God’s family here we have seen and experienced God’s great faithfulness and amazing grace many times and in many ways, both in our own lives as well as in the lives of church family. We long for many more people in our town and all over the world to come to know the love and grace of our God and Saviour who first loved us and gave Himself for each of us and we wait eagerly for His return.

Hi, I’m Simon, married to Kathryn, and we have two sons. We’ve lived in Doncaster for over 20 years and enjoy being part of the BEC family. I became a Christian in my teens and it has been amazing to see God’s faithfulness and help in all aspects of my home, church and work life (I sell sweets). We look forward to welcoming you to the church.
Lee Potts

I’m Lee, originally from Wolverhampton (making me an avid Wolves FC supporter) but I have lived in Doncaster for nearly 20 years and I have been at BEC all of this time. I am married to Helen and we have three children. I work as a chemical engineer in the water and environmental sectors. It’s been very exciting to see God at work in the church and seeing people getting to know Jesus.
