At Bessacarr Evangelical Church, small groups and prayer meetings are a really important part of our church life.
Small Groups
We encourage everyone in the church family to join a group. They are a great opportunity to get to know other members of the church, study the Bible, pray together and help one another live for Jesus.
We currently have various groups meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in people’s homes. There is also a group that meets in the church building on Tuesday afternoon.
Home groups meet every week except the last week of the month when we all join together for our Altogether Prayer Meeting.
Prayer Meetings
We believe that unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain and so prayer is a vital part of our church life!
Altogether Prayer
- 7.45-9pm on the last Tuesday of the month
- BEC, Bessacarr Lane
Every month we come together as a church family in the church building. We begin by singing and hearing from God’s word before praying. We pray for our mission partners as well as the needs of the church family, and different ministries of the church as well as for our community and town.
Wednesday Prayer Meeting
- 12.30-1pm on Wednesdays
- BEC, Bessacarr Lane
On Wednesdays at lunchtime, we meet in the church building to pray particularly for the needs of the church family. Please note there is no Wednesday prayer meeting in the last week of each month.
Africa Prayer
- Last Thursday of the month from 7–9pm
- Zoom
Africa Prayer is a monthly Zoom prayer meeting for anyone in the church who would like to join with others to pray for our mission partners and organisations in Africa. Please contact Charles and Eleanor Mitchell for the Zoom link.
Friday Prayer Meeting (on Zoom)
- 7.30-8am on Wednesdays
- Zoom
Each Friday morning we meet on Zoom to pray for the spread of the gospel. The Zoom details for this prayer meeting are emailed out to the church family each week.
