Safeguarding

As a church we believe everyone is created in God’s image, having value and worth, and we see safeguarding as part of our biblical mandate to love, serve and care for one another. We are committed to the nurturing, protection and safeguarding of children, young people and adults.

We recognise that safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and seek to foster a culture of safeguarding in the church, working hard to ensure that we operate in line with current best practices and following statutory and specialist guidelines, as recommended by thirtyone:eight and Christian Safeguarding Services (CSS) (independent safeguarding specialists). We seek to support all those in the church affected by abuse.

If you would like more information or have any concerns please get in touch with our Designated Safeguarding Lead Kathryn Mair (Tel no. 01302 531040) or either of our Deputy Safeguarding Leads: Angela Webster (Adults), Katie McConway (Children and Youth).

Code of Conduct

Leading and serving in the church is a wonderful privilege and a great responsibility. Jesus places a great value on every single person in his church from the youngest to the oldest, regardless of background, gender or ethnicity. As staff and volunteers we want to honour the Lord Jesus in the way that we care for and serve everybody and especially children, young people and adults at risk of harm.
